INSTRUCTIONS:
Lie flat on your back. Inhale deeply while
raising your legs and spine until the toes point to the
ceiling. The body rests on the shoulders and the back of the
neck. Keep spine and legs straight. Breathe slowly and
deeply with the abdomen. The chin is pressed against the
chest.
When we come out this posture, curve the
back and slowly return to lying on the floor while exhaling.
IMPORTANT: Do not come down on the floor or get up
abruptly!
BENEFITS: This
posture is quite easy, and neverthless incredibly effective,
one of the most important asanas.
The thyroid gland works at peak
efficiency. Sarvangasana vitalizes the nerves, purifies the
blood and promote good circulation: the entire endocrine,
digestive, nervous, and venous systems of the body are
stimulated in incredible ways. A rich supply of oxygenated
blood is sent to the organs and glands in the upper part of
the body.
If you are suffering from any health condition, it is advisable not to perform these postures unless under the supervision of an experienced yoga instructor.
