Put your yoga mat into a comer, Fold the cloth/blanket several times so that it can serve as a pad or cushion for your head, kneel down in front of it and place your interlocked fingers in the comer close to the walls.

Put your head into the hollow of the palms, rise up off your knees and take a step or two towards your head. Raise the legs until they are vertical. Keep your back straight and begin to relax.

To come down, bend the knees and lower one leg and then the other. Slowly.

IMPORTANT: Do not come down in a rush, and do not stand up. Remain in Savasana for a few minutes, otherwhise you would vanify all the benefical effects of the pose.

Like all inverted poses, don't try Sirshasana if you have high blood pressure.

The headstand increases circulation to the brain, which causes improved brain function and increased vitality and confidence; some of the most important endocrine glands are stimulated by this posture.

This posture can be performed until old age, and that helps a lot the brain, since all it cells receive a lot of blood.
